Clear Penetrating Sealers

Description: One coat application of water-based sodium silicate solution to concrete. Material is thinned and applied at one gallon to 400 - 500 square feet, by roller or spray. Finished thickness is 1-2 mils. The material stays largely hidden in the pores of the concrete and leaves a soft sheen.

Performance Expectations: Intended as an economical sealer and dust proofing. Protects against dirt, gas and oil. Also, increases the ability to keep the surface clean. Offers better performance than acrylic materials used for the same purpose. Easily re-coated for increased substrate protection.

Typical Uses: Warehouses, light manufacturing areas. Not suitable for exterior exposure.


Thin Film Protective Coatings

Description: Usually an epoxy primer and finish coat, or epoxy primer and polyurethane finish coat. Application by roller or spray to achieve a 4-20 mils thickness. Abrasion resistance and slip resistance may be improved by the incorporation of aluminum oxide or quartz aggregate into the system. Finish may be clear or pigmented.

Performance Expectations: These coatings protect and beautify the substrate and make the surface easier to clean. Systems can be designed to provide excellent resistance to foot and vehicle traffic, harsh chemicals and UV light. Epoxy is generally less expensive per mil than polyurethane and provides excellent general purpose protection. Polyurethane provides better weathering than epoxy and also improves cleanability and stain resistance. Darker colors show scratches and abrasions more readily than lighter colors. Thin film coatings will not perform well in heavy use areas that are subject to extreme abrasion and impact. Thicker aggregate filled flooring systems are needed for these areas.

Typical Uses: Used in a wide variety of applications, including warehouses and light manufacturing areas. Clear exterior applications over concrete are not recommended.


Color Chip Flooring

Description: Multi-colored vinyl chips embedded in pigmented epoxy and sealed with multiple coats of clear glaze. Interior applications would normally receive one epoxy top coat and two finish coats of aliphatic polyurethane. Exterior systems are sealed with UV stabilized polyurethane or acrylic. System thickness is 25 - 30 mils. Finished flooring gives a beautiful terrazzo-like appearance. Waxing is not required. "Orange Peel" texture provides slip resistance, and glass beads or quartz may be incorporated to give extra protection in wet areas.

Performance Expectations: Suitable for commercial and residential applications. Seamless surface provides easy maintenance and excellent sanitation. Durable wear coats resist staining, abrasion and impact. Resistance to a broad range of chemicals is excellent. Lasts indefinitely with periodic re-glazing in heavy traffic areas. Color chip  flooring is not intended for heavy use industrial areas.

Typical Uses: Used in place of conventional tile or composite flooring. A good system in areas requiring a seamless durable no-wax surface. Commercial uses include classrooms, offices, store fronts, cafeterias, cleanrooms, and bathrooms. Residential uses include patios, walkways, recreation rooms and kitchens.


Self-Leveling Epoxy Slurry

Description: Low viscosity, 100% solids pigmented epoxy resin combined with fine aggregates and fillers. Mixture is applied with a notched trowel and back rolled. A smooth glossy surface results. The resin rich system is extremely durable and wear resistant. Slip resistentce may be achieved by incorporating large particle silica sand or aluminum oxide into the mixture. An alternate slip resistant surface may be achieved by broadcasting aggregate into the wet slurry and seal coating with epoxy after the slurry cures. System usually installed at 1/16" - 3/16" thickness

Performance Expectations: This versatile system bridges the performance gap between thin film protective coatings and heavy duty troweled toppings. The aggregate fillers dramatically increase the abrasion and impact resistance, making it suitable for heavier use areas. Resistance to a broad range of chemicals is excellent. This system is ideal for smoothing rough concrete.

Typical Uses: Industrial manufacturing, processing and packaging areas, commercial kitchens, loading docks, and heavy equipment repair facilities.


Epoxy Quartz Flooring

Description: Colored quartz granules embedded in clear 100% solids epoxy and sealed with clear epoxy or polyurethane. Normally installed either by trowel or multiple broadcast method from 1/8" to 1/4" thickness. May be installed with integral cove base to insure strict sanitation. Texture can be varied from mopable to "Orange Peel" to aggressively non-skid in wet areas.

Performance Expectations: High strength system is very resistant to wear and impact. Resistance to a broad range of chemicals is excellent. Dense, seamless surface discourages bacterial growth and provides easy cleaning. Multi-colored  quartz provides an attractive appearance that does not readily show soil. Waxing is not required.

Typical Uses: System has about universal use in institutional, commercial and industrial buildings where durability, attractive appearance and sanitation are required. Especially suitable for food preparation areas, laboratories, health-care facilities, public restrooms and manufacturing areas.


Troweled Epoxy Mortar

Description: Low viscosity, 100% solids epoxy resin, blended with 6-8 parts graded silica aggregate. This heavy bodied mixture is applied to a primed substrate and compacted by hand or power trowel. The resulting surface is somewhat porous and usually sealed with 1 or 2 coats of epoxy. System has 2-3 times more compressive strength than concrete. Very effective for repairing spalled or damaged concrete, and for changing the slope of the surface. When used as a floor topping, usually applied at a minimum of 1/4" thickness.

Performance Expectations: This system is used in the most demanding flooring areas. It has maximum resistance to impact, abrasion and thermal shock. Resistance to a broad range of chemicals is excellent. Minor troweling irregularities may result from normal installation procedures, but will not affect performance.

Typical Uses: Heavy use areas such as breweries, chemical processing and manufacturing areas, loading docks, and food processing areas.


Epoxy - Fiberglass Wall Coating System

Description: 100% solids epoxy and fiberglass reinforcement, applied over drywall, masonry or plaster. Masonry surfaces require block fill prior to application and would normally not receive the fiberglass. Installation is done in multiple coats to achieve a seamless, slightly "Orange Peel" textured surface. This system is extremely tough and easy to clean. May be finished with clear high performance aliphatic polyurethane where maximum anti-graffiti properties are required. Finished thickness is 30 -45 mils.

Performance Expectations: Designed as a durable surface for particularly demanding interior wall areas. Excellent resistance to impact, physical abuse and staining.

Typical Uses: Health care facilities, commercial kitchens, cleanroom areas, schools, and cafeterias.


Epoxy / Urethane Safety Stripping

Typical Uses: System has universal uses in institutional, commercial, industrial buildings and aircraft hangars where durability, attractive appearance are required. Especially suitable for food preparation areas, laboratories, health-care facilities, public restrooms and manufacturing areas.
